Trauma Informed Consent

Sex is meant to be an intimate act, shared with someone you trust, that is pleasurable for both you and your partner.

But sex can involve a high level of risk when intoxication, intimidation, coercion, or violence are involved. When you are not prepared, or are unable to consent to sex, there is an increased risk of sexually transmitted infection and pregnancy.

If you or someone you know has had a negative experience where sexual activity was imposed without permission, you should read the section on sexual assault for useful information and advice.
